Overview

After pregnancy and breastfeeding, different changes can be seen in breast volume, breast position, abdominal skin and abdominal wall. The name mommy makeover is the common expression of the procedures chosen for these changes. Not every person needs surgery, nor does everyone need the same procedures. Breast lift or volume adjustment, tummy tuck and limited liposuction options are evaluated according to personal priorities. The new pregnancy plan, breastfeeding status and weight balance affect the timing. If concomitant surgery is considered, the duration of surgery, recovery burden and assistance required in child care are specifically discussed; A phased approach may also be possible.

What is evaluated?

  • Discussion of breastfeeding, whether breast changes have stabilized and plans for another pregnancy.
  • Breast volume and sagging, and abdominal wall and excess skin are evaluated separately.
  • The need for child lifting, support at home, and the risks of combined surgery are discussed.

Approach and options

  • Breast lift, enlargement or reduction options can be chosen according to your needs.
  • Abdominal wall and skin problems, tummy tuck; Regional fat can be evaluated with liposuction.
  • Procedures can be planned in the same session or in stages according to health and care needs.

Recovery and follow-up

The recovery plan covers all actions taken; Breast support and abdominal corset may be required. It's helpful to schedule help for child lifting, chores, and sports. Swelling in different areas may regress at different speeds. During follow-up visits, wound healing is evaluated and the return to daily responsibilities is gradually arranged.

Risks and limits

  • Bleeding, seroma and wound healing problems in combined surgery
  • Clots and anesthesia complications
  • Change in breast sensation or breastfeeding capacity
  • Asymmetry, significant scarring and risks specific to the chosen implant

The headings here do not cover all risks. Possible benefits, alternatives and personal risks should be discussed in detail during the examination.

You can ask in the consultation

  • How does my breastfeeding and pregnancy plan affect timing?
  • Which procedures are suitable for me to do together?
  • How should I arrange support for childcare and lifting my children?
